With the #Dream11 IPL 2020 less than two weeks away, the Cricket experts are out with their prediction before the actions begins. The IPL 2020- in many ways – is going to be different from the previous editions. Firstly, the whole tournament will be played in the UAE for the first time; denying the home advantage to all franchises. And second, there will be no fans to support the players as the tournament will be played behind closed doors.

However, the auction in December last year ensured that a bunch of new comers likeYashasvi Jaiswal, Devdutt Padikkal, Anuj Rawat, Ravi Bishnoi, Daniel Sams, Alex Carey– could bring more excitement and thrill in the cricket carnival. The Auction also ensured that the franchises revisited their strategies and picked themselves a team to leave imprint on the IPL 2020.

While some teams like Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders have always had great balance, teams like Delhi Capitals, Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals are looking great this year. With all the teams stacked up for IPL 2020, Aakash Chopra – former Indian Opener and Cricket Analyst- picked the best team on Paper going into the tournament.

Talking about the strongest team on paper in this year’s IPL, Aakash Chopra said, “Difficult to say, defending champions the Mumbai Indians, they look very good. They are as good as gold. But they don’t have the kind of spin that you want. They have Rahul Chahar, Krunal Pandya, Jayant Yadav, Anukul Roy, not the spin attack that gives you a lot of confidence,” about defending champions on his YouTube channel.

However, the 42-year old was quite impressed by the way Delhi Capitals squad has shaped up this year. Going into this year’s auction, Delhi Capitals had retained their Indian batting core along with Kagiso Rabada and a few other players. In the auction, they picked some exciting players like Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey, Axar Patel to beef up their squad. They also did some value additions in the form of Ravichandran Ashwin, Anrich Nortje, Danial Sams after some players left before the tournament.

In Chopra point of view, Delhi Capitals have all the ammunitions to go distance in the tournament and are the team that looks best at least on Paper. “Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Alex Carey, Marcus Stoinis, Shimron Hetmeyer, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Amit Mishra, Sandeep Lamichhane, Ishant Sharma, Daniel Sams – how many options they have got. Even if they play three overseas players, their team will be match-winning. In my opinion, the team that is looking the best on paper is the Delhi Capitals,” he added.
