As one match is left in the conclusion of the series and Australia had sealed the series by taking a lead of 2-0. There is nothing any discussion on this that they were too dominating side in this series, as there each and every player had contributed in the best way either its batting, bowling or fielding. On the other, Indian team who had lost their spark in ODI format, the team combination to the bowling unit,Indian team had struggled in every bit of pieces. They had lost both the matches with huge margin and what effects them most is their bowling department.
Former Indian opener and cricket analyst Aakash Chopra reckons that India should add T Natarajan to their bowling department for the last ODI match which will be on 2nd December 2020. Indian team had properly been outplayed in both the matches as they didn’t seem to be the perfect and lethal combination. In both the matches Australia managed to register mammoth total of 374 runs and 389 runs respectively. The bowling unit is the major concern for the Indian team. They had conceded lots of runs in the middle overs and there star bowlers were also helpless in stopping them. In first ODI match, India could only manage to score 308 by losing 8 wickets and unfortunately lost the match by 66 runs whereas the second game which was do or die match for them in that they scored 338 for 9 wickets and lost the match by 51 runs.
Indian team bowling unit doesn’t seem to that sharpness which they used to be. Neither the star players nor the temporary bowlers, no one could give important breakthrough when the team needed the most. With the continuous two loses and to avoid a clean sweep, Aakash Chopra suggests two changes in the team for the final match.
He suggests that India should go for two changes in the team for the coming and last ODI match. He says that T Natarajan and Kuldeep Yadav should be given chance in place of Navdeep Saini and Yuzvendra Chahal.
“In the bowling, you can surely play T Natarajan in place of Navdeep Saini and you can try to play Kuldeep Yadav instead of Chahal. That’s about it,”. Said by Aakash Chopra.
Chahal had conceded 89 runs in first ODI and 71 runs in the second ODI from the 10 over spell. This is the first time when Chahal had a bad bowling whereas Navdeep Saini had conceded 83 runs in first ODI and 70 runs in the second ODI. Both the players were too expensive in their economical spell in both the matches respectively.
He also said Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah should continue to play the last match of the ODI format. Furthermore, the BCCI management is likely to give rest to both the speedsters rest from the T20 format so they could perform better in the most anticipated Test series.
“If Bumrah and Shami are both fit and do not have any niggle, they are absolutely fine to play, please play them and don’t change anything else,” quoted by Aakash Chopra.
