We are just one month away to the world cup 2019. Every team now preparing for the world cup and all the teams announced their squad for ICC cricket world cup 2019. So England also announced their squad for CWC. But now the problem starts with the England squad. They have included Alex Hales in the team.
Earlier Alex Hales decided to take rest from the cricket for personal reasons. But he decided to play in the world cup. But before it, he has been banned by ECB for 21-days for using recreational drugs. Now England cricket team dropped him from the squad.
The decision is made by Giles (ECB’s Managing Director of England Men’s Cricket), and the England National Cricket Selectors, headed by Ed Smith and the decision to be made for the best of England cricket team.
Commenting on the decision, Giles said:
“We have thought long and hard about this decision. We have worked hard to create the right environment around the England team and need to consider what is in the best interests of the team, to ensure they are free from any distractions and able to focus on being successful on the pitch. I want to make it clear this is not the end of Alex’s career as an England player. The ECB and the PCA will continue to aid Alex and work alongside his county club Nottinghamshire to give him the support he needs, to help him fulfill his potential as a professional cricketer.”
Alex Hales will not travel with the team for the upcoming bilateral series against Pakistan and one-off ODI against Ireland and also dropped from the preliminary England world cup squad.
England has not announced any replacement of Alex hales yet. But soon they have announced the replacement of hales for the upcoming Pakistan and Ireland series
