It is almost have been confirmed that Ahmedabad can be the next and new addition as a franchise in the history of IPL. As BCCI had called a Annual General Meeting (AGM) which might be held on 24th December 2020. The meeting might be called for the addition of two more teams into the Indian Premier League franchises squad. The approval can be sanctioned in the house of state associations. This approval will thoroughly propagate by the state authority association for the inclusion of two more teams in the IPL 2021 which will held on 24th December.
According to the source, it has been confirmed that Ahmedabad is the one team who has been locked for the IPL franchise. Ahmedabad has been the utmost priority yet whereas there has been more names in the list like Lucknow, Kanpur and Pune in the discussion of inclusion as a team. If BCCI decides in AGM for the inclusion of one more team rather than Ahmedabad which might be possible for 2021 or can be for 2022.
Goenka and Adani are the top contenders for the new IPL teams
According to the sources, RPSG owned by Sanjay Goenka and Adani Group owned by Gautam Adani are the two possible contenders for the IPL Franchise ownership. Adani had shown likely introduction to own a team in theIndian Premier League, as Ahmedabad was also in the thoughts for a team and it is also notable Ahmedabad as the largest stadium in the world so it could be possible having a home venue could reach Ahmedabad to be the next team whereas Sanjay Goenka had team in the IPL for two years that is from 2016 and in 2017 as Rising Pune Supergiants. He owned the team for two years so it could be possible due to the experience In owning franchise can lead him to attain as top contender to buy a team.
Furthermore it is also said that with the likes of Goenka and Adani, another contenders are also there that is Mohanlal. South Indian mega star with a business tycoon can approach for Southern based IPL Franchise. He had been also seen in the finals of recent edition played between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals in UAE.
It is still official to announce where and how the tender for the new team will release while if BCCI announced the arrival of new team then it is confirmed that a mega auction could be spectated for IPL2021. According to the sources, it is confirmed that mega auction and additional team will be further discussed in the general meeting.
“Time constraints are there but the full auction will be in the interest of everyone. IPL governing council will formally decide on this in next 3-4 weeks and communicate to everyone concerned,” quoted by BCCI source.
With the mega auction on hand, it will help team like Chennai Super Kings to build a new combination as they had a disastrous season by knocked out as the first team from the league stage. If mega auction happens then it could be sigh of relief for Chennai Super Kings to manage and create strong campaign. Even in the post presentation Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni stated also it’s the time to rebuild new team and new combination for upcoming processes.
“We have to wait and see what BCCI decide on the next season’s player auction,” said by Dhoni.
With the commencement of auction, not only Chennai campaign it would also help many more teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kings XI Punjab to build there team for the next auction.
