KKR has been performing has performing fabulous in this season of IPL so far. They has played 6 matches so far in IPL 2019 and won 4 out of them. They are at second place in points table with 8 points.
However before IPL started, there were some bad news for KKR as many of their players got injured even before IPL started. Shivam Mavi, Anrich Nortje and Kamlesh Nagarkoti were the players injured. Although replacement of Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti were announced as KC Cariappa and Sandeep Warrier but replacement of Anrich Nortje was not announced.
Today KKR announced replacement of Anrich Nortje as Australian fast bowler Matt Kelly. Kelly has played 16 First-Class matches, five List A games, and 12 T20s. He has represented Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League. However he has not played in IPL so far, this will be his maiden IPL tournament. He was bought by KKR at base price of Rs 20 lakh.
KKR has performed fabulously well so far in IPL. Their main asset is Andre Russell, he has scored 257 runs so far with an average of 128.50! His strike rate is 212.40. He has also taken 5 wickets so far in IPL 2019. Captain Dinesh Karthik and vice captain Robin Uthappa has also performed well.
Earlier Harry Gurney was also included in team. He has picked 2 wickets in 2 matches. We hope that Matt Kelly also performs well and pick wickets for KKR. Injury has been concern for KKR, in previous match Andre Russell was looking in pain but there is no update about his fitness. KKR will be hoping that no player of their gets injured now in tournament.
KKR next match is against DC in their home ground at Eden gardens on 12th April.
