India is going to make a comeback in the international cricket after a long gap due to outbreak of COVID, that made stoppage on the cricketing sport. They will going to battle against with the best side of the international cricket that is Australia. Match is scheduled at the Australian soil with three match ODIs series, three T20Is and four Test matches respectively.
In this year India has played only international cricket with New Zealand side where they lost the series by clean sweep of 3-0 whereas after the break by COVID, Australia had competed against England and clinched the series by 2-1 in September. So with a losing note and this long break followed by overseas pitch it could be a tougher situation for Indian Cricket Team to tackle.
As reading all statements, Aakash Chopra the former Indian Cricketer and Cricket Analyst reckoned that Australia is the favourites for the first ODIs match as they are having a better and balanced lethal side if compared with Men In Blue. The first ODI is scheduled at Sydney on Friday.
Australia is a better-balanced side than Team India: Aakash Chopra.
Aakash Chopra stated in a video seen in his YouTube channel, compared the playing XI of both the sides. He quoted that at number 7th position, Australia has Marcus Stoinis whereas for India has Ravindra Jadeja. The fact is that the kind of Australian pitch is there it will give more advantage to Stoinis rather than Jadeja and it is also well known fact that the Australian all rounder had a good success in IPL2020 playing for Delhi Capitals.
He also quoted that Australian squad have Glenn Maxwell as a sixth bowler in their bowling department so he can provide much needed breakthrough whereas Indian Team hasn’t any all rounder specialist in the Top-6 batting position who had bowler recently in any tournament. Aakash Chopra also reckoned that Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins can also bat and hit long sixes.
“They have Stoinis at No.7 and we have got Jaddu. These are the Australian pitches so the story will be different. Stoinis and Maxwell will also give them overs. So that is the other difference, that no one is bowling in our top-6 while they have a bowler in their top 6, so that makes the balance a little better. And after that Cummins, who bats well, Starc, who also bats well.” Said by Aakash Chopra on his YouTube channel.
He quoted that Australian team has more all rounders compared Indian Team, as there is more intent in Australian side as they have batting depth till No.7 position.
Hence Aakash Chopra believes that Australia are the better side and the favourites in comparison with Indian Team.
“So, if we see in terms of all rounders, the Australian team has little more depth. They have batting till No.8 or No.9 while our batting will end at No.7. So I feel the balance tilts slightly towards Australia,” stated by Aakash Chopra.
