The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced that they will host two twenty20 matches between Asia XI and World XI to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of Bangladesh’s father of nation, “Sheikh Mujibur Rahman” who was the first president and second prime minister of the nation. Who has been assassinated in August 1975. BCB president Nazmul Hossain Papon had made promise to there people of arranging the best set of international players available for both sides and to make this series a historic moment in the world of cricket. The BCB president also said that both the matches have been given international status from ICC.
BCB has asked to BCCI to allow 7 of its top player to join Asian XI. List of player – MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah.
BCB claims that all the other boards have supported this proposal and mutuallythey decided to give international status to both the matches.
Indian cricket fans now started arguing about the claim of BCB. If the claim is true then will it be the Return of “Mahendra Singh Dhoni” to the international cricket?
MSD played his last match in the World Cup semi final at Birmingham on 03 July, 2019 before going for a long rest.
Dhoni made himself unavailable for selection for India’s tour to West Indies in August as he took a sabbatical to train with Para Regiment of the Indian Army in Kashmir. He did not played limited over series against South Africa and wasn’t part of team who defeated Bangladesh in T20 by 2-1 recently.
If BCCI does allow a go-ahead to Bangladesh Cricket Board then it could well end long suspense over Dhoni’s future.
Both the T20I matches between Asia XI and World XI are scheduled to be held between March 18 and 21, 2020 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Bangladesh.
