Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers are potentially two of the best batsman of modern era. They are so similar to each other in every way from fitness to game awareness to chasing abilities. The duo tormented even the best bowling attacks with ease and steadily become backbone of their national teams.
The legends even share a brotherhood from almost a decade as the duo represent Royal Challengers Bangalore in Indian Premier League. If anyone has to pick one of them, it would be as tuff an ask as anything could.
There is a little that separates the duo from each other. The duo has excellent international records for their different batting styles. While Indian captain Virat Kohli is a technically sound batsman with equalling destructing batting abilities. AB de Villiers is more assured with his unorthodox shots rather than the conventional ones.
Brad Hogg, the veteran china-man bowler from Australia, also faced the same question when a fan took to twitter and asked, “@Brad_Hogg@TomMoodyCricket, Considering AB still being in such a supreme form after retirement and Virat too at peak of his game, Who do you guys think is a better batsman between AB & Kohli.”
The China-man bowler, who represented Australia for a career spanning over 18 years, would not have faced both Virat and AB much in international cricket. But the Australian all-rounder faced quite a lot of both during his IPL stint.

Former Australian spin-bowler Brad Hogg, for all the experience he had, has given his verdict in the favour of Indian captain stating that Virat Kohli’s records speak it all for itself. The left-arm chinaman spinner wrote, “Kohli, stars (stats) back it up.”

De Villiers, surprisingly, retired from the international cricket in May 2018 after representing South Africa for over 300 games. On the other hand, Kohli is India’s captain across formats at present.
