IPL 2019 has reached in its final stages now. Every team will try hard to qualify in play-offs. Till now, only CSK has qualified in play-offs. No team will try to take risk of losing even a single match now as it can effect their plans for play-offs. Only 4 teams will qualify in play-offs. In present scenario, CSK has already qualifies to play-offs, while MI and DC need one more victory to qualify in play-offs.

Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) held a meeting with the BCCI officials discussing various things. Among them was the issue of the delay in finishing of matches in the ongoing IPL 2019. It has now been decided by the CoA that the timings for the start of IPL-12 playoff could be changed to 7:30 pm. It may be decided that BCCI may change timings of IPL 2019 play-offs matches to 7:30 PM.

The playoffs in IPL-11 also had a 7 pm start. The official broadcasters Star Sports had already made a request to start the playoffs early like last year. They don’t want the playoff games to end after midnight like some of the league stage matches. Also there is the dew factor to be considered because all matches of play-offs will be held down south in Chennai, Hyderabad and Vishakhapatnam. There is the case of an extended presentation ceremony after the playoffs. Keeping all this in mind, it was felt that timings of IPL should be changed.

Qualifier 1 of IPL-12 will be played in Chennai on May 7. Eliminator and Qualifier 2 will be played in Vishakhapatnam on May 8 and May 10 respectively. The final will be held in Hyderabad on May 12. The CoA is also looking to start the women’s T20 games in Jaipur at 7.30 pm and the as they will also be broadcast live.

In the last edition, there had been changes in timings too during the playoffs. The start time during the play-offs was changed to 7 PM.
