Cricket Australia has announced test team of the decade with 2019 and the decade nearing its end. CA has announced a star studded squad that makes the best eleven of the decade. Indian test captain Virat Kohli has been named the captain of the eleven for his heroics as captain in test cricket.

On Monday, Cricket Australia named the eleven that consists four players from England, three from Australia, two from South Africa and one each from India and New Zealand . Team consists as many as 5current or former captains of their International teams in the form of Alastair Cook, Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, Steve Smith and AB deVilliers.

Indian Captain Virat Kohli has had a major role in making India No.1 in test rankings. Ever since he has taken the bacon from the hand of he has led from the front taking India from No. 7 to No. 1 in test matches. Now India has been the No.1 test teams for more than three years.

Talking about the team formation Cricket Australia has designated Alastair Cook and Davin Warner as the openers of the team. Both have been phenomenal in the last decade. They also complement each other as a pair as one is aggressive enough to tear apart any bowling attack and the other one is astute enough to grind the bowlers whole day. No. 3 position is owned by New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson for his consistency and great average of 55.53.

Steven Smith takes the no.4 slot for his record breaking feats in the format in the last decade. He is the best batsman Australia have produced after Don Bradman.  He has an average of 63.14 in test matches.

Captain of the squad Virat Kohli walks in at no. 5 and he will be followed by AB de Villiers at no. 6 who will also don the gloves for the eleven.  England’s Ben Stokes undoubtedly best fast bowling all-rounder of this generation takes the only all-rounder’s slot.

In the bowling department Dale Steyn, James Anderson, Stuart Board and Nathan Lyon form the bowling attack. While Dale Steyn remained at the top of the rankings in test cricket. Jimmy Anderson has been the best swing bowler in the decade. Nathan Lyon and Stuart Broad also gets in the team for their excellent record home and overseas.
