Cricket Australia has announced ODI team of the decade with 2019 and the decade nearing its end. CA has announced a star studded squad that makes the best eleven of the decade. Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been named the captain of the eleven for his Midas touch that helped him win all the ICC tournaments in his reign.

The decade saw the game reaching to new heights as the batsmen became more fearless and pitches becoming much flatter and helpful for batting. As many as 8 double centuries were scored in this decade with Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar setting the trend and his successor Rohit Sharma taking it to unimaginable heights.

On Monday, Cricket Australia named the eleven that consists four players from England, three from Australia, two from South Africa and one each from India and New Zealand. Team consists as many as 5current or former captains of their International teams in the form of Alastair Cook, Virat Kohli, Kane Williamson, Steve Smith and AB deVilliers.

Talking about the team formation Cricket Australia has designated Rohit Sharma and Hashim Amla as the openers of the team. Both have been phenomenal in the last decade. Both have been phenomenal in the last decade as Rohit has aggregated 8249 runs at an avg. of 53.66 and strike rate of 90.63 with the help of 28 centuries and 39 half-centuries. On the other hand, Amla is fastest to 2000 to 7000 runs in ODI even beating the likes of Virat Kohli.

No. 3 position is owned by Indian skipper Virat Kohli for his consistent runs at an average of 60.79. He amassed 11125 runs hitting 42 tons and 52 half centuries.

AB de Villiers takes the no.4 slot for his record breaking feats in the format in the last decade. He scored over 6000 runs at an average of 64.20 and a strike rate of 109.76.

Bangladesh all-rounder takes the all-rounder’s slot for his remarkable record in the decade. Jos Buttler takes the finisher’s role along with legendary MS Dhoni both have been pivotal in making their respective teams world champion again in this decade.

Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan takes the lone spinners spot. While Mitchell Starc, Trent Boult, Lasith Malinga form the pace trio.
