Dwayne Bravo, the CSK all-rounder, is one of the best all-rounders in T20 franchise cricket. He has been an integral part of Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. If not for Covid-19 Pandemic, he would have been representing his franchise in the 13th edition of the tournament. But with the marquee tournament postponing indefinitely, the players are keeping themselves busy by conducting Q&A sessions and live chats.
On Monday, West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo was invited on the show “25 Questions” by ESPN Cricinfo. In the show, the 36-year old answered various questions about his cricket career. Out of those 25 questions, one was “who do you think will be the first to make a T20 double century?”
Barely had he taken a second before naming hit-man Rohit Sharma, the man who can achieve the feat of first ever double centurion in T20 Cricket. Rohit Sharma has been one of the most consistent limited overs players over the last 7-8 years. Everyone is well known of Rohit Sharma’s penchant for playing big innings in limited-overs cricket and there is no denying on his day he can crash any record with his hitting prowess. Rohit even has the record of fastest international T20 hundred off just 35 balls.
Sometime back a double century in ODIs also seemed impossible. But the last decade saw as many as 8 double centuries been scored in ODIs with Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar setting the trend and his successors Virender Sehwag and Rohit Sharma taking it to unimaginable heights.
Though a T20 double century has kept eluding everyone till now. At present, the Universe Boss Chris Gayle holds the record for the highest score in a T20. The West Indian scored a blistering 175 not out against the now-defunct Pune Warriors in the Indian Premier League. On the other hand, in Internationals, Australia captain Aaron Finch scored a record 172-run against Zimbabwe.
Well known for his death bowling prowess, the Trinidad and Tobago all-rounder also revealed an interesting fact as he answered the question that read as “Which three batsmen will comprise your dream hat-trick?” Dwayne Bravo, in response named three stalwarts of modern cricket -Indian captain Virat Kohli, Mr 360 Ab de Villiers, and his countryman Kieron Pollard as his dream hat-trick trio.
