As the India tour of Australia series for the ODIs edition is almost come up to the end and both the matches are won Australia by dominating in each and every department. The ODIs series was successfully for the Indian Team as they got outshone by Australian team totally. In both the matches they registered a mammoth total in front of Indian side and lost both the matches with same amount of margin.
Indian team doesn’t seemed balance in the series and was considered having many loopholes in the bowling unit and in the fielding department. Batting was also not good as they weren’t in the long sake to produce better partnerships. If India have something positive to stick on it then it will be Hardik Pandya who had played a good inning in the 1st ODIs and gave much needed breakthrough and almost stopped the good batting line up of Australian side by taking wickets in the 2nd ODIs match.
He didn’t bowled from a long time as he was not included in the bowling unit of Mumbai Indians in the recent passed edition of Indian Premier League 2020. Still he was included In the squad for the Australian tour and will be assigned as a pure batsman if he cant bowl. In the first ODI he didn’t bowled whereas in the second ODI there wasn’t any option for the Indian skipper Virat Kohli to opt Hardik to bowl as they were pretty good on the top bowlers of Indian side. Hardik Pandya hadn’t bowled for a long time still he managed to the most economical bowler in the second ODI.
Hardik Pandya took wicket of Steven Smith
In the second ODI, Hardik Pandya bowled only four overs but his slower balls and the off cutters was so promising that Australian top notch batsman were also found helpless. He even took the wicket of the most successful batsman of this series, Steven Smith who was standing with a ton at that moment. The wicket was also came on crucial point which made somehow India to the game. Even Finch and Kohli also mentioned in the post match presentation that with Pandya’s excellent bowling made Australia bowlers to execute some plans.
With two regular loss in the ODIs against Australia, Indian skipper Virat Kohli admitted that Australian side had outplayed us totally in every department and Indian Team need to come harder to save themselves from being cleaned up.
“They have outplayed us. We were ineffective with the ball and didn’t hit the areas. He (Pandya) gave away a bit of a bowling plan with his off cutters,” quoted by Kohli in the post match presentation.
Aaron Finch, Australian skipper said “It was a perfect performance with the bat. Smithy was incredible as usual, Moises bowled really well including his cutters and as Virat said, we got a bit of a blueprint from Hardik, by taking the pace off the ball”.
With two losses in a row, India had lost the series as Australia led the series by 2-0. The 3rd ODIs match will be played on 2nd December 2020 in Manuka Oval, Canberra. Only Team India have to do is save themselves from being whitewashed away. Indian team will be definitely disappointed as this is not the start any team would want. Now they have to be well prepared for the remaining series of T20Is and Tests matches respectively which will begin from 4th December 2020 to 17th December 2020.
