New year 2020 is all set to become a breathe taking year for all sports lovers as there are a lot of tournaments, which are scheduled to be held in 2020.

The year will kick-start with U19 World Cup 2020. The tournament will be he held in South Africa from January 17 and the Final will be played on February 9. Indian team for the tournament has been announced and will be lead by Priyam Garg of Uttar Pradesh.

It will be followed by tennis tournament Australian Open in January-February.

Just after the U19 World Cup, ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 will be played in Australia from February 21 to March 8. The final will be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Defending champions Australia will fancy their chances for winning the World Cup for a record five times. The 10 teams are divided in two groups of 5 teams each. Indian Women’s team is in the group-A with Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

After that, Champions League Final (Football) will be played in May.

Amidst all these tournaments, the Kumbh of sports Olympic Games 2020 is all set to entertain all sports lovers from July 24 in Tokyo, Japan. The Olympic will be 17 days this time. India would like to win as many Medals as possible forgetting their performance in Rio Olympic 2016, where they won just 2 Medals ( 1 Silver and 1 Bronze).

At the end of the year, The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 too will be hosted by Australia from October 18. The World Cup will last 29 days with Final to be played on November 15 at Melbourne Cricket Ground. The Indian team will go into the tournament as a strong contender to win it. But recently Virat Kohli said that this is not the best T20 side the had.

However, India has not won any World Cup after the 2011 World Cup. They lost 2015 and 2019 World Cups in Semi finals after being the table-toppers at group stage. They lost the 2016 T20 World Cup to West Indies in Semi final also.
