AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli are probably the two best batsmen of current era. With their unprecedented shot making and consistency, these two geniuses have redefined batting in limited overs cricket in last decade and so.
In IPL too, both of Kohli and de Villiers have played a number of memorable innings to win matches single handily for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Once either of them gets going, the margin of error for bowlers and oppositions becomes very less.
Take the example of RCB’s last two matches, when AB de Villiers in one and Virat Kohli in other played two magnificent knocks to propel RCB to above par scores. While Virat Kohli played a magnificent knock of 90 runs in match against CSK, AB de Villiers reminded KKR – who the boss is – on the small ground of Sharjah.
Both of them hitting the form means, RCB is sitting well in top 3 in points table. There is a every reason teams will come up with specific strategies to stop the duo from repeating the carnage.
Kings XI Punjab skipper KL Rahul, when asked about his plans to stop AB and Kohli, came up with a hilarious answer on a promotional event with Virat Kohli. Rahul, who is scheduled to play RCB today, answered several questions ranging from his captaincy debut to how he prepared himself for the ongoing IPL during event.
But when asked to name one rule he would like in T20s, he hilariously replied: “I would ask IPL to ban you and AB for next year,” to Kohli to left him awestruck. However, KL also made a valid point by saying- “Once you have achieved certain numbers, certain number of runs, it should be enough. Once you have got 5,000 runs in IPL, okay bas (enough). Now you guys let the other guys do the work.” But his initial reply spread like wild file and fans enjoyed the reply from KXIP skipper.
