After the administration emergency in Board for Control of Cricket in India, Supreme Court of India appointed a Cricket Advisory Committee to monitor the administration and ensure a transparent administration. MSK Prasad led panel introduced some young blood in the National set up just prior to the end of their tenure. In the batting department they introduced the likes of Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant along with the likes of Mayank Agarwal and Hanuma Vihari.

Now, things are back to normal after the appointment of Sourav Ganguly as chief of BCCI with this the tenure of MSK Prasad is also nearing its end. Ahead of the completion of his tenure as the chief of India’s national selection panel, MSK Prasad named quite a few players who currently form the bench strength of the team.

He named India’s batting reserves in the form of KL Rahul, Prithvi Shaw, Abhimanyu Easwaran and Priyank Panchal saying that every one of them is ready to open for India on any day.

“If you take the case of openers, now with Rohit (Sharma) stepping up, you have Rohit, Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shaw, KL Rahul, Abhimanyu Easwaranand Priyank Panchal. On any given day, any of these guys can open for India. That’s how we have groomed them from a systematic process through India A tours,” MSK Prasad was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

While KL Rahul is out of the team, Prithvi Shaw is on comeback trail following his injury and ban after doping violation. Easwaran and Panchal both are amassing runs in the domestic circuit and are part of India A team regularly. The Bengal and Gujarat openers, had prolific Ranji seasons with 861 and 898 runs, averaging 95 and 60, respectively.
