Mumbai Indians have reached into the IPL finals, second consecutive times by defeating Delhi Capitals in qualifier one yesterday. Now they will play the finals on November 10 against the winner of qualifier two. While Delhi Capitals have another chance to reach into the finals. They will play against the winner of Eliminator in second qualifier in November 08.
MI has won won the match but they have big blow that their star bowler Trent Boult has left the field during the 14th over of the match due to groin strain. Mumbai Indians, however, could lose Trent Boult for the final game of the tournament. The left-arm pacer is in a race against time to be fit for the all-important clash after picking up a groin injury during Delhi Capitals’ innings. While the extent of the injury is not known yet, Trent Boult had to walk off the field as Mumbai Indians took no risk.
Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is hopeful Trent Boult’s groin strain is not serious and the pacer would recover in time to play in the final of the IPL 2020 on November 10.
“I’ve not seen him (Boult). But he seems okay. I don’t think it’s a big problem. Three day rest and he should be back on the park,” Rohit Sharma said during the presentation.
“I guess this is the best performance. The way de Kock and SKY took the momentum after I got out early was good to see. Perfect result for us. We never had a target in mind. We are a different team and we play differently. We just wanted to have a good powerplay and then take it from there. We knew we have the power to accelerate at the end. Ishan has been in just great form, so we just wanted him to be really positive after the second time-out. We told that to Krunal as well, just bat positively and put the bowlers under pressure. With such a versatile squad, we can change the batting and bowling order. Bumrah and Boult have been in solid form. They play for different teams so they have different plans. We as a team have different plans and it’s great to see them execute those,” he added.
