A Few days ago, all the eight IPL franchise has submitted their release and retain players list ahead of the Indian Premier League 2020 auction. Current IPL Champion Mumbai Indians has released almost 12 players ahead of the auction. They also traded in Trent Boult from Delhi Capitals.  MI and CSK are the most successful Indian Premier League franchise.

Chennai Super Kings have released five players ahead of the auction. In this, they have released English Wicket-keeper Sam Billings, David Willey, Mohit Sharma and two more players. Mumbai Indians have 7 slots left in the team in which two overseas players slot left while the reimaging purse left is 13.05 crores.  Other hands, CSK has left five-player slots in which two overseas slots left while the reimaging purse is 14.60 crores.

The Indian Premier League 2020 auction will take place on December 19 in Kolkata. It will be mini-auction. CSK and MI have already fulfilled their team. Both the franchise has needed just one or two players to complete the team. According to reports of the British daily The Mail, Both MI and CSK show their interest in Somerset Batsman Tom Banton.

Tom Banton made his T20 debut in July 2017 for his county team Somerset. He has played 17 T20 matches for his county team and scores 591 runs at a strike rate of 39.40. In his short career, he has scored one century and four half-centuries.

Currently, Tom Banton is featuring in the Abu Dhabi T10 League where he is playing for Qalandars. He has also joined Big Bash League and plays for Brisbane Heat in 2019/20
