As Cricket gears up to blossom again finally after 4 months, the Board of Control for Cricket in India is working day and night to ensure the 13th edition of IPL takes place in 2020. The BCCI also locked in the tentative dates for the lucrative tournament and is looking to stage the tournament from September 26- November 08 this year.
“We are yet to decide on the venue but in all probability, it is going outside this year. The condition in India doesn’t look suited to have so many teams come in at one or two venues and then create an atmosphere which will be safe for the players as well as the general public even though the games may be played behind closed doors,” the official was quoted as saying by IANS.
It’s looking impossible that Indian Premier League 2020 will take place In India. Now BCCI is looking to organise this year IPL outside India. Sri Lanka and UAE has already interested to host This year IPL and they have written a latter to BCCI regarding this. Now BCCI will take a call to organise IPL 2020 in India or outside India.
“The race is between UAE and Sri Lanka and we will need to decide on where we host the league depending on the situation there with regards to the coronavirus pandemic. Logistics also need to be looked into, so we will decide soon,” the official said.
