Ishan Porel, Bengal new ball bowler, is in best form of his career. Playing for Bengal in 2nd Semi-final of 86th season of Ranji Trophy, he picked five wickets in first innings for just 39 runs. In 2nd innings also, he picked the important wicket of in-form KL Rahul with an in-swinger. Batting in second innings, Bengal got all-out on 161 setting a huge target of 352 runs.
Speaking on form of Ishan Porel, Bengal Ranji Coach said, “He’s in great form at the moment. He’s bowling deliveries that can get big batsmen out, like a KL Rahul or Virat Kohli. He’s bowling in that channel.”

Bharat Lal said that Ishan doesn’t ball too many loose balls. He can trap big batsmen, like Virat Kohli & KL Rahul with his bowling. He is economical too. The 21-year-old bowler already has 53 wickets on his name in 20 First-class matches that too at an economy of 2.82.
Porel earlier said that his team Bengal had already planned for KL Rahul. KL came back from the New Zealand tour to take part in the knock-outs.
Porel said, “He (Rahul) is a lot more calm and composed. He has got all the time to play the ball. He faces 140kmph bowling all the time. It was easy for him here. He got out to a poor shot because we showed a lot of discipline in our bowling. We are happy that he could not go after us and consumed 67 deliveries for his 26.”
The hosts reduced Karnataka to 98/3 at the end of day 3. At the time of stumps, Devdutt Padikkal was on 50 unbeaten. On the other end, there is experienced Manish Pandey on his score of 11. In IPL 2020, the youngster will play for Kings XI Punjab under the captaincy of KL Rahul.
Karnataka is now well behind of target and sealing the final spot with just seven wickets in hand.
