The World is under the Corona Virus Threat and with each day the Virus is spreading like a wild fire across everything- from societies to cities and then to countries. Almost every single country has taken precautionary measures to stop entering the virus into their territory. Yet the virus has managed to infect a number of countries across the world.
The outbreak of coronavirus has started to make its presence felt in the global sports events also as the government of many countries has put led on mass gatherings. Recently, England captain Joe Root also announced that in the upcoming tour of to Sri Lanka, the English team will avoid shaking hands in a bid to avoid the coronavirus threat.
And after Nepal government’s advisory, the organisers of Everest Premier League–Nepal’s domestic T20 Tournament, has postponed the league till the Corona Virus threat gets in control.
With the virus also making its presence felt in North-Western India, the dark clouds are hovering over VIVO IPL 2020. There are also rumours that due to the Corona Virus threat BCCI might postpone VIVO IPL 2020.
The marquee tournament is scheduled to kick off from 29th March 2020 with defending champion Mumbai Indian locking horns with three-time winner Chennai Super Kings in the dazzling floodlights of Wankhede Stadium. The 60- fixtures tournament will entertain the world for 57 days with its antiques, action pack moments and thrillers.
However, in a recent interaction, Sourav Ganguly, the BCCI chief has insisted that VIVO IPL 2020 is ‘ON’ and BCCI will take all the precautionary measures to make sure that the tournament commences as per the schedule. “It’s on…and BCCI will take all protection.” Sourav Ganguly said as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.
VIVO IPL 2020 is just 22 days away and the Cricket fans will hope that the world clears the Corona Virus threat as soon as possible.
