VIVO IPL 2020 was successfully completed on 19 Dec, 2019. The auction was a mini auction before the next year’s Grand-auction. Most of the teams went into the auction with a settled unit and they just concentrated on plugging the gaps.

Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings were the franchisees with the lightest purse that means they had the most settled units going into the auction.

The auction started with a set of batsmen and the first name at the auction was Australia’s swash bulking big hitting opener Chris Lynn. He was expected to go for bug bucks considering his recent form in T10 league. However, none other than Mumbai Indians bothered to bid for the right hander as MI snatched him at his base price- INR 2Cr. This surprised the fans because Lynn had earlier been purchased at a price of 9.60 Crores by Kolkata Knight Riders.

Though Chris Lynn was more than happy to join Mumbai Indians and to enjoy the batting on a flat wicket at Wankhede in the upcoming IPL. He tweeted, “@mipaltan  Great City  Quality Franchise  Flat wicket  Don’t have to play against @Jaspritbumrah93  Can’t wait for @IPL 2020”

Chris Lynn might have said it in a funny banter. But, undoubtedly Bumrah has been the most-fieriest bowler for some seasons now. He has been a nightmare to face even in a batsman-dominated game with his all the variations and toe cruising Yorkers.

Though, Jasprit Bumrah realised the occasion and reminded him to be ready for the nets. In a cheeky reply, he tweeted, Haha, welcome to the team! @lynny50 You’re still going to have to face me in the nets. 😋.

Mumbai Indians also replied to him for the grateful tweet as they praised his hitting skills and expected him to hit tha ball out of Wankhede, “Chris Lynn  Hitting the ball  Out of the Wankhede  Lynnsanity  Can’t wait for @IPL 2020”
