Another Indian player set to play England’s Kia super league. Jemimah Rodrigues becomes the third player to play in Kia Super League. Jemimah will play for Yorkshire Diamonds in the fourth edition of the KSL.
Yorkshire Diamonds tweets with Jemimah Rodrigues name on their official twitter handle,
“The Diamonds have announced their squad for the fourth and final edition of the KSL, which will be replaced by the Hundred from 2020. This summer’s competition kicks off in early August,”
Jemimah’s mother, Lavita Rodrigues, said.
“More than anything, it’s the experience of playing in an overseas league that will count for a teenager like Jemimah. Her progress since her India debut last year has been steady, with God’s grace, and we want this experience to help her be an even better player.”
Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana already part of the Kia Super League. Last year both played in the Kia super league first time. Smriti Mandhana has played for Western Storm while Harmanpreet Kaur has played for Lancashire Thunder. Smriti Mandhana smashed most number of Sixes in 2018 Kia super League and also scored a century.
Jemimah Rodrigues has played 25 T20Is for India and made 608 runs at an average of 30.40.
Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur also have part of the Women Big Bash League. Maybe Jemimah will also join Big Bash league in the future. Jemimah will join the Kia super league after mid-July, after that he available for whole the season.
The fourth edition of the Kia super League will start from August 6 and the final will take place on September 1.
