England have announced their squads for the upcoming limited over series against South Africa in February. England, current 50-Over World Champions are testing some new players in the set up to boost their bench-strength. In the process, they gave rest to their senior players for the recently concluded 5-match T20 series against New Zealand. The likes of Jos Buttler, Jason Roy and other regulars in the squad were given rest after the gruelling summer of English Cricket.
But, for South Africa series England have announced a full-fledged squad. With the likes of Jos Buttler, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer back in the squad. However, one notable exclusion from the squad is of their Test Captain Joe Root, who seems to falling down the pecking order. With David Malan performing outstandingly well in the recent series, England have gone with him while Joe Deanly and Pat Brown have also been given another go.
England also handed maiden call-ups to the ODI squad to Pat Brown,TomBanton, Saqib Mahmood and Mark Parkinson. David Malan has also been rewarded for his performance in the recent series as he gets a recall to ODI squad for South Africa series.
England is scheduled to play a full-fledged series against South Africa. The tour will commence with a Test match on Boxing Day. The ODI series will start from February 4 while T20Is will start from February 14.
