Finally, the deal has done and Kings XI Punjab has traded R Ashwin to Delhi capitals in return for J Suchith and an additional sum of INR 1.5 crores as part of the exchange. Kings XI Punjab bought R Ashwin in 7.6 crores in the Indian Premier League 2018 Auction.

“All the parties are happy. We wanted to get a spinner on board and we are happy to have Suchith with us,” Wadia said.
“Everyone is happy with this deal. We are happy, Ashwin is happy and Delhi is happy. We were in talks with three teams but have finally come to this conclusion. We wish Ashwin the very best,” Wadia told PTI.
Ashwin led KXIP for two seasons and amicably decided to part ways from the franchise. “We [Ashwin and KXIP] have amicably come to a conclusion that we should part ways,” Wadia had said earlier in the day.
Ashwin has made his IPL debut in 2009 and after this; he has played 139 IPL matches and takes 128 with an economy of 6.79. He was part of Chennai Super Kings franchise when CSK won the Indian Premier League title in 2010 and 2011.
In the last two seasons, Ashwin led the Kings XI Punjab team but failed to win the IPL title for them. Ashwin failed to change the fortune as a captain of Kings XI Punjab.
The transfer window will close on November 14. IPL 2020 auction will take place in Kolkata on December 19.
