Kings XI Punjab has started to make changes in their squad and support staff. KXIP May release Ravichandran Ashwin before the Indian Premier League 2020. R Ashwin led Kings XI Punjab in the last two seasons but failed to win the IPL title for KXIP. KL Rahul may lead KXIP in IPL 2020. Mike Hesson was the head coach of KXIP in the last season but this he also parted ways from them. Now Kings XI Punjab is looking for a new head coach, and they are interested to rope Anil Kumble as their head coach for the upcoming season of IPL.
According to the report of Mumbai Mirror, Bollywood actress Preity Zinta co-owned Kings XI Punjab is looking at former Indian leg-spinner Anil Kumble for head coach’s job.
Anil Kumble, who coached India from 2016-2017, had a great run with the team, winning series’ against New Zealand, Australia, Bangladesh and England at home, before making it to the final of Champions Trophy
Kumble was also the Mentor of Royal Challenger Bangalore and Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians won the IPL title twice when he was mentor.
The report also adds that George Bailey has accepted KXIP’s proposal to join them as a batting coach. Australia’s former white-ball skipper, Bailey is yet to retire from the game and is currently playing Marsh one-day cup for Tasmania.
Kings XI Punjab hasn’t won the Indian premier league so far. In 2014, they reached in the finals but lost against Kolkata Knight Riders.
The IPL 2020 auction will take place in Kolkata on December 19. The trading window of player transfer will close on November 14. If any IPL franchises want to trade a player from other franchise they need to do this before November 14.
