Team India will tour of the West Indies at the end of this month. Where, they will play three ODIs, Three T20Is and two tests. Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah may be rested for the ODIs and T20Is. They will join the team before the first test. A BCCI official said that we need to manage the workload of Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah because of packed schedule in 2019/20. Also, MS Dhoni will not travel West Indies. BCCI also gives him rest for this series.
“Dhoni will not go to the West Indies,” a BCCI source was quoted as saying for Dhoni’s availability for India’s upcoming tour, according to a report in Times of India.

“Dhoni has been playing non-stop cricket for the last three months, starting with leading Chennai Super Kings in IPL-12. He had been struggling with his back but didn’t let that affect his performance and then carried a finger injury in the second half of the tournament as well. In fact, Dhoni has injured the hand again off delivery he was run out against New Zealand. The selectors will look to give him some rest, looking at the packed international calendar for next year,” a senior BCCI official informed CricketNext.
“Kohli and Bumrah might be rested for the limited-overs series and possibly even the Test matches. A call on their availability for the Tests will be taken later,” the official added.
“The selectors have enough backup options in the form of Khaleel Ahmed, Navdeep Saini or even Deepak Chahar to replace Bhuvneshwar,” the official added.
In the absence of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma will lead the team. Rishabh pant may be the wicket-keeper batsman for in dia during this series. Selectors will give a chance to youngsters like Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar and Khaleel Ahmed. Also, Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar may be rested for this series.
