Sri Lanka has made a strong comeback after the disappointing world cup tournament. They won the three-match ODI series against Bangladesh by 3-0. This was the first series after the world cup 2019. Sri Lanka won the first match by 91 runs and the second match by seven wickets and won the final ODI by 122 runs. Experience middle-order batsmen Angelo Mathews played throughout the series and awarded with the player of the series award. Lasith Malinga made his last appearance in ODI cricket during the first ODDI and announced his retirement for ODI cricket. He will continue to play T20I cricket.
After the Match, Sri Lanka Batsmen Kusal Mendis started to celebrate the victory. Kusal Mendis rode one of the bike that can present during the presentation with Shehan Jayasuriya. But the bike was slipped, and both down formed the bike. But it’s good that no one can be injured.

After winning the player of the series award, Angelo Mathews said,
“I want to thank Kula for his wonderful service to Sri Lankan cricket; he’s been a silent hero. I have been trying to do what I’m capable of in the middle overs. The wickets that we played on were very slow, and when the boundaries are bigger, you have to run hard, and my approach varies from wicket to wicket. I always try to stay positive, no matter what. Being a senior player, you always go through a lot of pressure, but you use the experience to get out of that situation. You should never doubt yourself and just keep going. We have had a pretty disappointing 12-16 months, but the boys have done well. Congratulations to Bangladesh cricket, they have been playing some really good cricket of late. Looking forward to the New Zealand series.”
