Kolkata Knight Riders are the team who had clinched the IPL Title for two times but with this competitive squad, in the last two years they had failed to put impact on the other teams and failed to even go to playoffs. So there ate chances that team management may think to release their some of players as IPL Governing Council has allotted time of 21st January to register the names of released and retained players.
According to Inside Sport, It might be seen that KKR management could release their ex captain Dinesh Kartik and Kuldeep Yadav out of the team.
“KKR already has Tom Banton, talented Nikhil Naik as wicket keeper options in the squad. Team may continue with them and will let go off other options” quoted by source.
Both the players couldn’t play upto the mark in the concluded season as Dinesh Kartik has scored only 169 runs from 14 games whereas Kuldeep Yadav didn’t got as much any chances to showcase his talent.
With the likes of spinning option as Varun Chakrawarthy, team will think to release Kuldeep.
With the release of these two players team can gain a bidding amount of total 13.2 Cr in their kitty as right now they are left out with 8.5 Cr.
They will also think on Pat Cummins as he was the most expensive player of last season with a whooping amount of 15.5 Cr. He has scored 146 runs in 14 matches and took 12 wickets. The other suspects are Sunil Narine and Andre Russell as both have played less matches in the last season as Russell was mostly indulged in injuries whereas Narine was out of few matches due to unorthodox bowling action.
If team could think to retain some players then it could be Captain Eoin Morgan has he can nurture the talented players with his skills whereas Shubman Gill who can lead team as an opener for the franchises in the coming edition.
