Finally the Day 1 session is concluded with a decent start for India. Visitors won the toss and elected to bat first from which both the openers went in a quick succession. It was Cheteshwar Pujara and Kohli who put Australian into a difficult side. But ultimately it got in vain when Virat Kohli departs by the leading of miscommunication with the vice captain of team Ajinkya Rahane.

He was going well with the bat and scoring runs in the opening Test played at Adelaide and eventually lost the wicket in a run out. He was leading the team to build with perfection and decently against the Mighty hosts. He got out on the over of 77th which was bowled by Nathan Lyon where miscommunication between Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane met in a run out of the skipper.

The tale was like Rahane hit the ball, and asked for a single and Kohli ran but collecting the ball at perfect time made Rahane to cancel the run which made Kohli in a rush and losing the wicket.

The ball was thrown by Josh Hazlewood and Kohli got run out. His wicket was the biggest breakthrough for the hosts side and a dig for the visitors. Virat Kohli scored 74 runs in the match.

It was then the responsibility of the Vice captain to catch up the things and make the situation decent but the plan wasn’t took off the way Indian camp thought. Even Ajinkya Rahane got out after that losing hope for team. He could only manage to score 42 runs. The wicket of Ajinkya Rahane was took by the speedster of Australia team Mitchell Starc and India got at the situation of 202 for 5.

Now the bottom order have to do the best to get up to a total to bowl out Australia and all the hopes are on them.


Kohli will play on the opener match and leave to India for paternity leave which will make Rahane to lead the team in the remaining three tests matches of Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
