Now according to reports, MS Dhoni will retire from all forms of cricket after the ongoing world cup. A senior BCCI official told to PTI
“You never know with M.S. Dhoni. But it is unlikely that he will continue to play for India after this World Cup. But since his decisions to quit captaincy from the three formats have been taken so suddenly, it is tough to predict at the moment.”
In the MSD’s captaincy India won the first edition of ICC world t20 2007, ODI world cup 2011 after 28 years and 2013 champion trophy. He left the captaincy in 2017. MSD retired from test cricket at the start of 2019.

“The team management had to take a call in 2017 after the Champions Trophy. They decided that they will invest another two years in Dhoni till the 2019 World Cup. India have reached the semifinals despite his lukewarm performances, so he has been carefully shielded,” a former India player said.
“No one can ask him to retire, but obviously he has got the drift that post World Cup, things won’t be the same,” a former India player said.
India reached in the semis of world cup 2019. So India can try to win the world cup 2019 and give the best farewell to one of the legend of Indian cricket (M.S. Dhoni).
