The speculations about MS Dhoni’s future has been taking an eternity to die down. Former Indian Captain, MS Dhoni, has been the hot topic of debate ever since the 2019 World Cup. The champion player has not played any kind of Cricket since the loss against New Zealand in the semi-final of the Men’s ODI Cricket World Cup 2019. After the loss, Indian stalwart MS Dhoni took indefinite sabbatical from the game.

After a sabbatical of almost 8 months, MS Dhoni has been planning to make a successful return to the competitive cricket through IPL 2020. He had even started training for the tournament. But the COVID-19 outbreak has put all the plans in jeopardy. BCCI has already postponed the tournament till 15th April. Indian Government has also locked down the country till 14th April at least. And there are slight chances that the tournament will take place this year.

With the chances of IPL 2020 looking very slim, there are talks in the town that MS Dhoni might soon announce his retirement from International Cricket. According to Sportskeeda, a top source has revealed that MSD has already made his mind and on appropriate time he will make the announcement.

“Officially, he is yet to have a word with the BCCI officials, but he has revealed his mind to his close friends. When time comes, he will reveal it all,”revealed the source.

The source also added that MS was looking to assess his form and batting prowess in the IPL 2020 before making any announcement. But, now, the IPL 2020 looking highly unlikely, MS might voice his decision any time soon.

However, MS Dhoni’s childhood coach Keshav Ranjan Banerjee still believes that MS will surely make it to the World Cup team. Speaking to the India Today Banerjee, recently, said, “In the current scenario, IPL looks unlikely and we will have to wait for BCCI’s call. His (Dhoni’s) position will become tough obviously. But my sixth sense says he will get a chance in the T20 World Cup, which will be his last.
