After a near six months inevitable delay due to CoViD-19, the IPL will finally take place from 16th September in the UAE. The IPL GC has finalized all the plans and the teams are likely to land in the UAE by 20 August.

As per the latest reports, some of the legends like MS Dhoni has also started their training ahead of the IPL. MS Dhoni has been off-gear for more than year now. The Wicket-keeper batsman last played a competitive game in July 2019. After that he took a a longer than expected sabbatical from game.

Earlier this year, Dhoni was part of the scheduled month-long training camp, which did not last long because of the Covid-19 pandemic. He had started training briefly for IPL back in February- March but the CoViD-19 outbreak played the spoilspart then by postponing the tournament.

But now, according to the report, the Thala has already started training at the indoor facility at JSCA international Stadium Complex last weekend. With not many quality bowlers available, Dhoni has taken to practice by bowling machines.

“He (Dhoni) visited the JSCA International Stadium Complex last week. He practised at the indoor facility using bowling machine,” a Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) office-bearer told the New Indian Express. “He did batting practice for two days over the weekend, but has not returned since. I honestly don’t know what are his plans or whether he will come back for training. We only know he has visited the facility for practice.”

The CSK team is expected to gather in Chennai on August 20 before the players take off for the UAE and start acclimatizing themselves in the bio-bubble there. Over the years, MS Dhoni and Chennai Super Kings have been synonyms of each other. Ever since the inaugural edition of IPL, MS Dhoni has captained the team in its good and bad times. The captain cool – under his captaincy- has won three IPL titles so far. And he will ready to win CSK the coveted trophy once again in the 13th edition of the tournament.
