BCCI is all set to organise an IPL All-Star match ahead of the IPL this year. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, on Monday confirmed that three days prior to the Marquee tournament an All –Star Match will be organised for the charity purpose.

Speaking after the IPL Governing council meeting, Ganguly said, “It will be an IPL All Stars Game three days before start of IPL. The venue is not Ahmedabad as it is still not match ready. We have not decided on where we will make the donation.”

The match will include stars from the all 8-franchise of the IPL. The IPL legends along with some International stars will mark their illustrious presence in the match. According to the reports, BCCI is planning to make two teams from the group of 4-4 teams of the IPL. The teams might be divided in North-East and South-West Zones.

While the North-East team will be picked from Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders, the forth teams in the North Eastern part of India. The South West team will have players from the other four, i.e. Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians.

If the teams are picked in such fashion fans will watch MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli playing for a same team in the IPL first time. FYI, MS Dhoni, Kohli and Rohit have never played together for an IPL team. And the South West team will include a lot of stalwarts of the game.

On the other hand, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Prithvi Shaw, Shubhman Gill along with international stars like Andre Russell, Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Ben Stokes will make a blend of Indian youth and International experienced players in the other team.
