The Board of Control for Cricket in India [BCCI] has omitted MS  Dhoni from the list for the annual contracts of International Indian cricketers for the period- October 2019- September 2020. This news has stirred the Indian Cricket World and people are fearing the inevitable. Cricket experts and sources close to BCCI and Dhoni are continuously being approached.

#ThankyouDhoni started to trend all over India as soon as the news of snub from BCCI contract list broke out. However, as always surprised everyone by turning out for practice with Jharkhand Ranji Trophy Team. The world cup winning captain, on the same day he was omitted, even brought his own bowling machine and practiced with the white ball indicating that he has not done yet.

FYI, MS Dhoni has already taken retirement from the longest format of the game and now plays white ball cricket only for India. Dhoni along with his state teammates sweated it out for hours.

“Even we did not know that he was going to come and train with us. It was a pleasant surprise. He batted for a while and did the usual training routine,”quoted a source close to the Jharkhand team to the Times of India.

It is also expected the champion player might turn out for Jharkhand in their next Ranji Trophy clash against Uttarakhand on Sunday. If this happens it will be a welcome news for Dhoni fans.

FYI, the former Indian skipper was in the Grade A category in the last year’s list of contracted players. But the veteran batsman has not played any kind of cricket since last year’s world cup. He took a sabbatical just after the World Cup and since then he has not made himself available again for the selection.

However, omission from the annual contract does not mean that MS Dhoni cannot represent India in the contract period. This is basically about the fixed amount a player gets for representing India in the designated period. In this condition, if Dhoni is selected to play for India he will be contracted like a player who is making his debut.
