Ravi Shastri, the Head Coach of Indian Cricket Team, who was speaking to Boria Majumdar in the episode of India Today Inspiration, talked about the much anticipated question of Indian Cricket at this time – When will MS Dhoni be seen in Indian Colours? He said that if Dhoni feels after the IPL that he is good enough to play for India, then there is possibility of his playing in T20I World Cup 2020.

MS Dhoni has been an icon in IPL but his form has deteriorated in International Cricket continuously. It may be noted that MS Dhoni has not represented India since the exit of India from Cricket World Cup 2019. He also said that not to ask him about his comeback in cricket until January 2020 at an event last month.

He has been on sabbatical for a long time, when asked about his future by a media person in a promotional event said” Don’t ask until January.” Making clear that at least till January he is not going to play any kind of international cricket. This might be disheartening to the fans who was eager to see the champion back in action.

Ravi Shastri said to India Today “That guy is a legend. The last thing he will want is to impose himself on an Indian team, having known him. He is wanting to take a break but he is going to play the IPL. The amount of sport he has played… if he puts himself in contention… if he feels after the IPL that ‘I am good enough to play for India’, don’t mess around with that,”.

A lot of Dhoni’s future now depends on his performance in IPL 2020. With Pant being given regular chances in the playing XI and Sanju Samson waiting in the offing, it will be interesting to see how things unfold.
