James Neesham, Kings XI Punjab all-rounder, has bashed former Indian opener and commentator Aakash Chopra for questioning his place in first XI of KXIP. After missing out in the first match, Neesham has played three consecutive matches for the franchise.

Incidentally, KXIP have lost two of those three matches and Jimmy Neesham has not contributed much in all three matches. After KXIP’s lose against Mumbai Indians, Aakash Chopra questioned KXIP’s persistence with James Neesham on his YouTube channel.

Questioning Neesham’s role in the XI, Aakash said: “They play Neesham, an overseas fast bowler, who neither bowls in the powerplay nor in the death overs. He is neither a great finisher nor a big batsman who bats in the top four or five. So why is Kings XI Punjab playing him? You are playing a player who is not really a match-winner,” on his YouTube channel.

The pace all-rounder was purchased in this year’s auction by KXIP and was included in the XI after Chris Jordan had a forgettable outing against Delhi Capitals. He is KXIP’s designated No.7 but haven’t had great outings so far. Neither he has looked reliable with the ball nor he has looked solid in batting.

But the pace-allrounder doesn’t like the criticism from Aakash Chopra as he hit back at Chopra on Twitter. Posting Aakash Chopra’s unimpressive IPL record on twitter, Neesham took a sly dig at Aakash Chopra.

Aakash Chopra is currently part of Star Sports’ Hindi Commentary Panel in # Dream11 IPL 2020. He opened in Test Cricket for team India and played 21 T20 games in his career. In 21 matches, he managed to score only 334 runs with a meek strike rate of just over 90.
