Yesterday, DDCA unveiled a new pavilion stand at the Feroz Shah Kotla as a name of Virat Kohli stand. Recently Virat Kohli becomes India’s most successful test captain. After this, DDCA decided to unveil a new pavilion stand as a name of Virat Kohli stand. All the team India member attended this ceremony. Anushka Sharma also attended the ceremony.

“In 2000-2001, there was a Test vs Zimbabwe at Kotla. We were sitting across from the Pavilion stand. Sehwag. Yuvi paaji. Srinath was standing at the boundary. I was asking him for an autograph. Never thought I would ever be honoured at the same stadium,” Virat Kohli said after being honoured with a stand to his name.

“I am a bit nervous, seeing so many important people. I was not expecting such a grand stage to honour me. Thank You Rajat Sir and my team who is present here. All the former players of Delhi, Kapil Dev Sir, I thank you a lot. It’s weird to talk about this, but I just want to thank the people who are present here – my wife and family,” he added.

“Thank you @delhi_cricket and @BCCI for bestowing this honour upon me. The pavilion will remind me of my journey in life and in cricket, but most importantly I hope it will serve as an inspiration for the next generation of young cricketers of our nation,” Virat Kohli tweeted after being honoured with a stand to his name.

“When I decided to name a stand-in honour of Virat Kohli, I told this first to Arun Jaitleyji. He told me this is a good decision because there is no better player than Virat in world cricket,” said DDCA president Rajat Sharma.
