After a number of breath-taking encounters in first five week of IPL 2020, the last week of the league stages proved a little sedate with a number of one-sided encounters. One of them was the final league match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians in which Sunrisers Hyderabad brushed aside the table toppers to pip out Kolkata Knight Riders in the race of playoffs and claim third spot in points table.

In a do or die contest for SRH, Mumbai Indians, having secured the top spot, rested some of their key players including Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult. Tough Captain Rohit Sharma returned for the encounter, SRH bowlers bowled tight lines and nagging lengths to restrict a powerful MI batting order for 149-8 in 20 overs. In reply, David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha came out with flying colours as the duo chased down the target in 17.1 overs to script a 10 wickets victory over defending champions. Though as fascinating a win for SRH this was, MI wouldn’t have minded the loss especially after watching Rohit Sharma striding out in the middle.

Rohit was out of playing XI in last few matches and in his absence his deputy Kieron Pollard was leading the MI team. After Rohit got injured, Pollard helped MI claim the top slot in the points table. With Rohit coming back, the Caribbean returned to what he does best – finishing the innings.

However, after the match with SRH a tweet from Mumbai Indians vice-captain has indicated that something is troubling the big man. In a scathing statement on his Twitter profile Pollard tweeted: “I’d rather have an enemy who admits they hate me, instead of a friend who secretly puts me down,” to left people wondering – Whom he was pointing out in his comments!

The big man also shared the same post on Instagram as well with people doing the guess work. While some of the fans suggested Jason Holder, the new limited overs captain of WI, to be the person, some linked it with Rohit’s return to captaincy in last league game.

While the time will reveal the secrets, MI will hope everything is fine within their camp.
