What a remarkable turnaround by Kings XI Punjab in last couple of weeks! After looking good but unlucky for initial three weeks in IPL 2020, the Punjab bases outfit, though a bit late, have delivered on the early promise, fighting it out against top oppositions. KXIP are back in playoffs race with four back to back wins including the last one against SRH.
Their Achilles heels ‘death bowling’ has shown a great improvement after the dual super over against defending champions Mumbai Indians. The same was evident in their match against SRH as the trio of Chris Jordan, Arshdeep Singh and Ravi Bishnoi chocked Sunrisers’ batsmen to defend 38 runs in last six overs.
In a chase of paltry 127 run, SRH were looking good at 89-3 in 14 overs with two set batsmen Manish Pandey and Vijay Shankar at the crease. However, the trio have other ideas as they picked out 7 wickets in last six overs to win the match by 12 runs.
After the match, captain KL Rahul was pretty happy with the attitude and temperament of team. “It’s not the first time, I’m getting used to it but we’ll take the two points however they come. It doesn’t always happen so you don’t know how to stay balanced in a situation like this. We have put in some really amazing performances even in the games we lost. We’re trying to come back harder in each game and wins like these help,” KL said after the win.
The owner Preity Zinta also looked happy and thrilled as she welcomed the victory with a flying kiss to KL Rahul and Co. Over the years, Preity Zinta has lived every moment of joy and sadness with the squad. She is a constant face during KXIP matches and this time around also she was quite expressive of her feelings.
The IPL official handle shared the video of the same on social media, captioning “What a victory this for @lionsdenkxip. Four wins in a row for them. They win by 12 runs. #Dream11IPL.”
