After winning the match, R Ashwin said,

“Getting better (with the jet lag) but I am getting there. Good win for us but still some areas where we can get better. It’s important to understand what the bowler is going through. It’s more about emotional management than anything else as a lot of things go through the mind of an individual who is different from you in a match situation. I am a hard taskmaster, but that’s the only way you can get them to push the envelope. It’s important to make them stay calm. We were clear about using the wind direction, and it worked. He’s got a big heart, he might be small but has a big heart. Never flinched whenever I asked him to have a bowl.”

After winning the mam of the match award, N Jagadeesan said,

“It feels special (to reach 1000 runs in TNPL history) and obviously being the first to reach there is really special. I think it was very important for me to bat through because at the start I wasn’t timing them that well. I was waiting for my deliveries later on and it worked. Every team needs to have one of their openers consistently batting through.”
