MS Dhoni has been out of action for almost half a year now and there are no signs of the legends come back in upcoming a few series also. Everyone is speculating and trying his best to get some update on the same. A lot has been said and heard on this topic by media persons, coaches and many other cricketing personalities. Indian coach Ravi Shastri in his recent statement to media has also indicated that the legend might soon announce his retirement from the ODIs.

Ravi Shastri said, “I have had a conversation with MS and that is between us. He has finished his Test career. He may soon end his ODI career. So he will be left with T20, he will definitely play the IPL. One thing I know about Dhoni is that he will not impose himself on the team. But if he has a cracking IPL, well, then….

Dhoni has taken sabbatical from cricket after the Cricket World Cup and he is enjoying this phase of his life to the fullest. In these 6 months after the CWC 2019 Semi-final, we have seen many different roles of MSD.

Firstly, MSD, who has been conferred the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel on 1 November 2011, joined 106 Territorial Army Battalion (Para) on July 31 performing LoC duties, static protection till 15 August at Kashmir.

After returning from the duty he participated in an amateur Golf tournament trying his hand at Golf as Honorary Member of American Club. Former Indian Captain then participated in a charity Football match along with Tennis star Leander Paes to collect fund for charity. MSD also showed his singer side as he was seen singing in a Post on Instagram in a friend’s party.

Recently, he was seen returning to the cricket field as the legend passed some time with Jharkhand U-23 team. Amidst all the talks about his future cricketing plans, everyone knows as much as Dhoni has answered— “Don’t ask till January”when asked by a media person.

It will be interesting to see if Captain Cool surprises his fans again by making himself available prior to the NZ tour next year as this could clear the picture of his taking part in the World T20 next year. Otherwise, as Ravi has said- IPL is the only source of making a comeback for Dhoni.
