There is less than ten months are remaining in start of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup2020 in Australia this year. And when Ravi Shastri, India head coach, was questioned about the team-composition for the big tournament. Ravi Shastri said that MS Dhoni could be part of Indian team for upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia if he performs well in this year’s IPL. It was also made clear by the coach that IPL 2020 will have a great role in selecting the final squad for T20 World Cupscheduled to be held late this year.

People expect that IPL will make things easier for the selectors. But it might be possible that things get more trickier than they are. They will be in great confusion, if all the three ( Sanju Samson, Rishabh Pant and MS Dhoni) perform well in the IPL.

However, Pant and Samson have been part of the T20I side continuously. Althoughonly Rishabh Pant is only making it to the playing eleven. Samson has just played a single T20I for India and that too in 2015. When Indian Coach was asked about the same thing, he did not make any clear cut intentions. Instead he said the selection will be done on the basis of other factors such as experience, conditions in Australia etc.

Shastri said, “You’ll have to see who’ll do the job at what number, (and) what role. Who is the best guy, you’ll take experience, youth and flamboyance into account and who fits into that number the best whether it is X, Y or Z.

“And as well be playing it in Australia well have to figure out who’ll adapt to the conditions best. All three names that you took are explosive batsmen and will be suitable for batting at number 4 or 5 because we need power at the back.

“So you’ll have to see consistency, experience and conditions. All that will come into play when the selectors sit down to pick the World Cup squad,” he added.
