Rishabh Pant and MS Dhoni have been the hot topics of debate ever since the World Cup 2019 semi-final. With MS Dhoni taking the indefinite sabbatical from game, Rishabh Pant, the youngster with audacious shots and breath-taking hitting ability, was inducted into the squad right after the Cricket World Cup 2019 and in a span of few months, he was an all format wicket-keeper batsman for India.
Selectors and Cricket Pundits termed the youngster an able replacement for MSD. Pant came into the team as an impact player who can win the matches single-handily with the bat along with his keeping skills in the progress.
Recently, in an Instagram live chat session with Yuzvendra Chahal, Suresh Raina heaped a lot of praise on the youngster and said that Pant reminds him of Yuvraj, Sehwag and Dravid when he plays well.

Suresh Raina said, “He (Pant) is a top cricketer when he plays well, you become happy, and he reminds of Yuvraj and Sehwag, he is as dominant as them, when he plays the flick, it reminds you of Dravid as well,” Raina said.
Anyone has seldom doubted the ability of Rishabh Pant, but it’s the temperament that has found him wanting every time in international Cricket. And now 10 months later, Pant finds himself fighting for a chance in the playing XI across formats.
The youngster has been given numerous chances across formats in the period but Pant never came close to make the spot his own in any format. In Test Cricket, a fit again Wriddhiman Saha replaced him behind the stumps in the Test setup. And in limited overs cricket, KL Rahul’s new Avatar as Wicket-keeper batsman has almost shut the gates for him for the time being.
However, with the Selectors and Cricket Pundits still favouring the youngster to come good, only time will tell what future holds for the dashing left-hander.
