In a welcome news for Cricket fans, Rohit Sharma, the dashing opener, is likely to travel with team India squad for Australia tour. The dilemma over Rohit Sharma’s participation on Australia tour has hogged the limelight in recent times.

The Mumbai Indians’ captain Rohit Sharma had pulled his hamstring during the clash against Kings XI Punjab in the Super Over. He has subsequently missed out some matches, before returning to field in final league match of MI.

Earlier, BCCI selectors did not pick the right-hander in any of the squads after going through the medical report and consulting with two specialist doctors. The Doctors and report have advised Rohit to rest at least for 2-3 weeks in order to remove concerns over his hamstring.

But Rohit Sharma’s further participation in IPL, not only put questions on credibility of information but also the status of injury and much more. While there are doubts still lingering over Rohit Sharma’s participation on Australia tour, a BCCI official has revealed that the right-hander is all set to travel to Australia with teams.

“A decision will be taken soon in this regard. It’s only fair that Rohit stays with the team and does his strength and conditioning work under physio Nitin Patel and trainer Nick Webb. Let’s see how it goes,” a BCCI source said.

Before travelling to Australia, Rohit Sharma will Mumbai Indians in the final of Indian Premier League 2020. Mumbai has already qualified for the finals after crushing Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1. The finale will be played on 10th November.

After that, Indian team will directly travel to Sydney, where they will follow a strict 14-day quarantine before locking horns with Australian team. The limited-overs series will start on 27th November and the Test series will begin later on 17th December.
