Road Safety World Series, a tournament to create awareness of traffic rules, is all set to begin on March 7. The much-awaited tournament also provides a platform to watch your iconic stars fighting in out in the middle again. And this time, we will have two of the biggest names in World Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara, up against each other in the tournament opener as India and West Indies Legends lock horns.

The famed duo also participated in Bushfire Bash League in Australia recently and they will once again join hands for another noble cause of creating awareness about road safety. The Road Safety World Series tournament will have Cricket Stalwarts from the world over as the likes of Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Brett Lee, Brad Hodge, Jonty Rhodes, Muttiah Muralitharan, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Ajantha Mendis will also participate in the five-team tournament.

On Thursday, while announcing the schedule of the tournament, the committee informed that a total of five teams – India Legends, Sri Lanka Legends, Australia Legends, South Africa Legends and West Indies Legends – will play a total of 11 matches over the course of 15 days in the tournament. The opening game of the tournament will be played between India Legends and West Indies Legends at the Wankhede Stadium on 7th March.

The T20 tournament will be played on four grounds as Wankhede Stadium, MCA Stadium, D Y Patil Stadium and the Brabourne Stadium will host all 11 matches among them. Wankhede Stadium will host two matches including the opener with the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune and D Y Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai hosting four matches each. The final of the tournament will be hosted by Brabourne Stadium on March 22.

As per the schedule, MCA stadium at Pune will host two India Legends’ matches on March 14 and 20. And Wankhede and DY Patil Stadium each will host one match of India Legends. All the matches will start at 7 PM IST as the world would be waiting for their heroes to set the field on fire like they used to do during their playing days.
