Former New Zealand all-rounder, Scott Styris, who is also an active commentator and sports analyst at Star Sports, named the players who can make to India’s team for the World T20 in October this year. Speaking at the pre-match show on Star Sports, Scott Styris shared his team of 15 members.
The dashing all-rounder form New Zealand has sprung quite a few surprises in his team of 15. Styris has included almost every possible contender for the slot except for MS Dhoni and Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammad Shami.
In their places, he has gone with two young prodigies in the form of ShubhmanGill and Sanju Samson. While the former has played only a single T20I in his career the latter is yet to make his T20 debut for India. But given their recent forms in Indian Premier League and domestics, Styris has gone with them.
Samson has been in the Indian squad lately but has not get a game since 2015.He last played for India in his maiden game against Zimbabwe back in 2015.
On the other hand, MS Dhoni has been out of action for almost half a year now and there are no signs of the legends come back in upcoming a few series also.Since the Cricket World Cup 2019, the Indian stalwart has not taken the field for any team.
However, Indian coach Ravi Shastri in a recent statement reiterated that Dhoni can’t be ruled out of the World T20 in Australia. We will look at his form in IPL this year and then decide how it goes.
Ravi said, “I have had a conversation with MS and that is between us. He has finished his Test career. He may soon end his ODI career. So he will be left with T20, he will definitely play the IPL. One thing I know about Dhoni is that he will not impose himself on the team. But if he has a cracking IPL, well, then….”
