Jasprit Bumrah is a generational talent and anyone ever will doubt that. After Lasith Malinga brought the revelation in limited overs by bowling by his toe-crushing Yorkers and slower ball variation, Bumrah carried forward his legacy filling in seamlessly in the big man’s shoes at Mumbai Indians. Jasprit Burmah is current purple cap holder in IPL 2020 and looking all set to lead the charts with one match to go.
Yesterday, in the Qualifier 1 against Delhi Capitals, the pace bowling duo of Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah put an exhibition of pace bowling as Delhi Capitals batsmen fell like pack of cards to crumble in chase of 200+. After Trent Boult rocked top order with two wickets in first overs, Bumrah accounted for Dhawan, Iyer, Stoinis and Daniel Sams to restrict DC at 143-8.
After the man-of-the match performance in the Qualifier 1, fomer New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond heaped praises on Bumrah to term him best T20 bowler in the world. “Jasprit, it’s a privilege to watch the best T20 fast bowler in the world go about his work,” said Shane Bond in the same video.
Bond also appreciated his countryman Trent Boult for nice exhibition of swing bowling. “I’ve loved working with Trent since 2012. We’ve seen him at his very best, and I was very excited to have him on our team. Because I know that what a devastating bowler he can be, and he has done that through this tournament for us.
“We are an intimidating batting line-up. You sit in the shed, and it is just relentless. At 100/4, you felt that turn in the momentum. Delhi fought really hard through the middle of the innings and got themselves well back into the game. If they’d had a little bit more luck or perhaps been a little bit more accurate, we would have been under pressure at the back end,” he concluded.
