Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson, who has played under captains like Shane Warne, Ricky Pointing, Rahul Dravid, Michael Clarke, George Bailey, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, has picked four best captains he has played under. In these four captains, two are Indians and other two are his fellow Australian teammates.
Shane Watson named Shane Warne and Ricky Pointing as best captains from his home side. He played under Shane Warne for his home team as well as for Rajasthan Royals in inaugural season of the Indian Premier League in 2008 and made his mark as all facet player. He displayed an all-round performance in Rajasthan Royals maiden title win and clinched the man of the tournament award for his performance.
The 38-year-old All-rounder named Indian captains Rahul Dravid and Mahendra Singh Dhoni as best captains he has played under as well. After the retirement of Shane Warne from all forms of cricket, Rahul Dravid took the reigns from the legend and captained Rajasthan Royals. Watson then went on to play under his captaincy as well. Watson represented Rajasthan Royals till 8thseason of the IPL. After that Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings were banned from IPL for two seasons. In that two seasons, he played for Royal Challengers Bangalore under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.
On CSK and Rajasthan Royals return in the IPL, the Australian All-rounder was picked up by Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2018. He played a glamorous 117 run innings of just 57 balls hitting 11 boundaries and 8 maximums in final of that season of the IPL that year and helped CSK claim their third IPL title. In IPL 2019, he again played for CSK. For the 13th season of the IPL, he has been retained by his franchise.
