Earlier, we have reported that Shikhar Dhawan injured. Media reports say that he has been ruled of world cup 2019 for three weeks but now BCCI clear that Shikhar Dhawan stays with team India.

The BCCI said,

“Team India opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan is presently under the observation of the BCCI medical team. The team management has decided that Dhawan will continue to be in England and his progress will be monitored.

“Dhawan sustained an injury on the back of his left hand in the region between the index finger and thumb during the league match against Australia.”

The ICC rulebook states that “once replaced by another player, Shikhar can only come back to the squad if another player is injured and the tournament technical committee is satisfied with that replacement.”

So Shikahr Dhawan stays with team India and could not play the next few games. He could not play against New Zealand and Pakistan match after that he may be available for selection.

Shikhar Dhawan is looking in good touch. He scored a brilliant century against Australia. Vijay Shankar may replace him in the playing XI for the upcoming matches. KL Rahul opens the inning with Rohit Sharma. KL Rahul scored a century in the warm-up game while Rohit scored a century against South Africa. Also Dinesh Karthik in the squad but team India will go with Vijay Shankar because of his all-rounder ability.

Team India has played two matches in the ICC cricket world cup 2019 and won both the matches. In the next game team, India will face New Zealand on June 13.
